Microsoft BizSpark App Academy is currently accepting applicants to participate in the BizSpark App Academy program at The Rob Roy inNEVation Center.LAS VEGAS, NV Microsoft BizSpark App Academy, an app building program designed to help early stage startups develop apps for market, is currently accepting applicants to participate in the BizSpark App Academy program at The Rob Roy inNEVation Center.

The program is designed to provide selected startups the business support necessary to move to the next level. Resources include three months of coworking space at The inNEVation Center, developmental tools, applicable tokens and credits, direct business and technical mentoring from Microsoft employees, marketing support, and Microsoft resources. The BizSpark App Academy is accepting applications through the end of December 2013. The program will initiate on January 6, 2014, and the chosen team will have three months to develop an app for market.

“The BizSpark App Academy and associated Microsoft programs and resources—combined with The inNEVation Center’s onsite resources and entrepreneurial spirit—will provide the selected team the opportunity to collaborate, create, and be inspired,” said Steve Seow, BizSpark App Academy program director and Microsoft technical evangelist. “Microsoft and The inNEVation Center will provide tremendous business support and value to a tech startup to help them create an app for market.”

The ideal Microsoft BizSpark App Academy candidate is a small team, up to three core members, with the minimum team configuration of a business lead and a technical lead. Because the program is app development focused, it’s highly recommended that a third member be a complementary developer (backend and frontend) or a designer.

The selected team will set up shop in The inNEVation Center in Las Vegas. The center fosters collaboration between Nevada entrepreneurs, business leaders, mentors, investors, educators and government agencies.

“Rob Roy, the CEO and founder of Switch, created The inNEVation Center to provide the resources and connections to make programs like the BizSpark App Academy happen,” said Kristi Overgaard, EVP of Awesomeness at The inNEVation Center. “Partnering with our SUPERNAP clients to grow their reach, while stimulating Nevada’s economy is the win-win we envisioned for this important contribution made by Rob Roy.”
